The Sunday Best is a collection of articles I’ve curated from the furthest reaches of the internet for your reading pleasure.
Every week, I scan hundreds of headlines, read dozens of posts, and bring you the best of the best to save you time and mental energy.
Financial Independence (FI) is a primary focus, but it’s an awfully broad topic. I tend to approach FI and early retirement from a fatFIRE perspective and through the lens of a physician, so expect to see those biases in the selected articles.
Related topics that have become recurrent themes include early retirement, selective frugality, tax issues, travel, physician issues, and of course, investing.

Great Sunday Best As Always POF! I particularly like the post “Why You Probably Don’t Want To Live In A Mansion”, because the author was dead-on.
I have a few friends that live in that level of real estate, and a mansion always strikes me as a burden. Not an asset. Everything costs more, the properties take longer to sell (usually), property taxes are insane, you need a small army of house cleaners, and probably worst of all is trying to remember what room you left your car keys in.
Definitely a first world problem, but still a problem!
Woke up this morning pleasantly surprised to see lots of hits coming from your site. Thanks for sharing, POF!
BTW, in case you don’t remember, I was the one who awkwardly ambushed you with a selfie at Fincon 2019.
When you get a notification from WordPress that your stats are booming if can only mean one thing: You got featured on Sunday Best. Thanks POF!
Ha!
Thank you for enlightening us all with your twisted tale of your “gold” purchase.
The only gold we own is worn on our ring fingers, and I don’t see that changing.
Cheers!
